OUR TEAM

  • Samy founded eDGe Renewable Partners in 2020. Before starting eDGe, Samy was a Senior Manager at Lightsource-BP-HA. Prior to LSBPHA, Samy was a Project Developer with Scatec Solar and held an Associate position at Amp Energy (Canada). He also worked with General Motors of Canada, Ontario Ministry of Finance and HSBC Bank. Samy holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alexandria (Egypt), a Master of Science in Investments from AAST (Egypt), and an MBA from McMaster University. 

  • Prior to eDGe, Gurnihal was managing real estate assets in both India and Tanzania and has previously held various positions in the Canadian Retail Banking space with Tangerine Bank (formerly ING Direct) and CIBC. Gurnihal has also worked in the CPG space with SC Johnson & Son and holds an MBA from McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business.

Greg Taylor

  • Mr. Taylor‘s leadership experience spans more than 35 years in global financial and capital markets. Previously, Greg held leadership roles including: EVP of Global Strategy & Corporate Development at Manulife, Member of the Management Committee, CFO at Manulife Canada, CFO at Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, and CFO at Amp. Previously, Mr. Taylor was Director at Merrill Lynch Canada, VP at Brookfield Asset Management, and VP at Sprott Securities. Mr. Taylor is a CFA, CPA, and holds an MBA from York University.

  • Mr. Soliman is Chair, Norton Rose Fulbright Canada Chair, Norton Rose Fulbright Canada and also co-chair of Norton Rose Canadian special situations team. Mr. Soliman was the only lawyer recognized in the Globe & Mail’s Report on Business Magazine Power 50 list for 2017; designated as a “Star Lawyer” by Acritas in 2017 for ranking in the top 28 lawyers globally (over 5,000 lawyers); was ranked as a leading Canadian corporate lawyer by both Chambers Canada and Lexpert Canada since 201. Among other philanthropic endeavors, Mr. Soliman is a board member of the Toronto SickKids Hospital Foundation.
